Service Description

The Moose River Bow is a classic Maine multi-day paddle that starts and ends in the same place. It’s a short trip that begins in historical Jackman Maine at Attean Pond. It wanders 42 miles in prime wildlife habitat and disrupted by several short ledge drops and rapids that can be portaged if necessary and one portage required around Holeb Falls. This trip sheds extraordinary appearing and reappearing scenery throughout its meandering path all the way back to Attean Pond. This is an excellent multi 4-day trip for all skill levels and it offers a nearby hike up sally mountain. The first day is spent at Rocky Hill Permaculture Farm and nearby Etna Pond with your earth care eco guide getting acquainted and learning about the canoe, gear, and some basic canoe tripping skills such as self-rescue, t-rescue, paddle strokes, packing and loading a canoe Plan on being in the water. You will become familiar with the history and wildlife in the upper moose river valley while also learning and practicing low impact skills and earth care guide ethics along the way.

Cancellation Policy

A cancelation 30 days (1 month ) prior to a trip date will be refunded 100% - minus credit card handling fees. If a cancellation is made less than 30 days prior to the date of the booked trip, someone no shows, or an incomplete trip - all finances are non-refundable and/or non-transferable. If for any reason participants are not satisfied you are free to leave, but you shall not receive a return of fees for the trip or experience. This policy reflect the fact that our trips are limited to small groups, we do not overbook, and a cancelled space is very difficult to fill last minute, and significant cost is incurred in the planning and preparing for our trips. In the event of an emergency or catastrophe beyond the control of your guide that would require ending a trip early, Maine Guide Company may offer to reschedule your trip at a reduced rate, at our discretion. If for any reason a trip be cancel, the client will have a choice of 100% refund or roll over fees to an alternate trip date. This will be issued as a trip credit redeemable for up to one year after the original missed trip date. .
