Available Overnights
We specialize in logistics for custom private trips! We build itineraries for every group based on the distance and difficulty you request, as well as any extras you'd like us to include. Itineraries are available throughout Maines Western Mountains and New Hampshire's White Mountains National Forest (and beyond) including the 440 Appalachian Trail miles between the two states.

Private Trips
You bring the group; we will provide the planning, the gear (if necessary), food, and a guide. Private overnights range from a 2-day/1-night trip to week-long adventures and more. The price reflects the number of clients and the duration of the trip. So encourage the family, college roommates, or co-workers and experience the adventure of backpacking with Maine Guide Company. Private Backpacking Trips are custom planned and booked via phone or email.

Basecamp / Day Hike
Maybe you like to camp out and take day hikes each day, we can make it happen ! Your guide can meet and or join you for camping, rent you camping gear (if necessary) and meet you each day for day hikes. Or, we have tent platforms, a local campground with all commodities, 2 private remote access cabins, and solar powered Dicky Smiths cottage right on the water, wood fired hot tub, outdoor kitchen, screened in deck, sleeps 6 right on Etna pond 1 mile away each night between your day hikes.

You like hiking, don't mind sleeping in the woods, but not all that gear? No problem! Maine Guide Company creates personalized itineraries that allow you to hike by day and interact with a guide who will deliver your food and gear to the trail, or provide transportation to wherever you want to go.
