If you live in Maine or New England, summiting Baxter Peak on Katahdin is a must do for your outdoor adventure bucket list. It’s also the end of the Appalachian Trail! Hiking Katahdin requires an elevation gain of around 4,000’. This is a very strenuous climb no matter which trailhead you chose. On average round trip time for a Katahdin hikes are 8-12 hours. We have planned trips for Knifes edge, Hunt Trail, and Abol. All offer challenging and rewarding features along the way. Baxter State Park is highly regulated. This makes the park a special place for us. Regulations are what ensure the park stays forever wild and maintains the beauty that Governor Percival Baxter wanted to protect when he donated the park to the state in 1931. A summit of Katahdin is not your basic day hike, and the rewards are certainly abundant. While there are many excellent places to explore in Baxter State Park, we are aiming to reach the summit of Katahdin known as Baxter Peak, via some of the most popular accents.

Cancellation Policy

A cancelation 30 days (1 month ) prior to a trip date will be refunded 100% - minus credit card handling fees. If a cancellation is made less than 30 days prior to the date of the booked trip, someone no shows, or an incomplete trip - all finances are non-refundable and/or non-transferable. If for any reason participants are not satisfied you are free to leave, but you shall not receive a return of fees for the trip or experience. This policy reflect the fact that our trips are limited to small groups, we do not overbook, and a cancelled space is very difficult to fill last minute, and significant cost is incurred in the planning and preparing for our trips. In the event of an emergency or catastrophe beyond the control of your guide that would require ending a trip early, Maine Guide Company may offer to reschedule your trip at a reduced rate, at our discretion. If for any reason a trip be cancel, the client will have a choice of 100% refund or roll over fees to an alternate trip date. This will be issued as a trip credit redeemable for up to one year after the original missed trip date. .
